April 7, 2018

As I began to walk
The path of expectations
I believed there would be
A few right and left turns
With a fairly steep incline.
Stepping forward, the path

Immediately veered one way
Then another way until
I was giddy and dizzy.
What a surprise and so
Much more…climbs- yes,
Turns- indeed, also tranquil
Meadows and dark crevasses.

No map would have helped
Only a vow could have served.
As I sit looking throughout,
Everything novel and familiar
So beautiful, so transitory,
Like fresh now in April.
