How do they
Get in during
Mid winter?
When it is
So uncaringly cold,
Hard, and covered
In ice. They
Find a way
In through some
Unknown crack
That has always
Been there
In the wall.
They penetrate,
Gain nourishment,
And begin to grow
In time. As
They thrive, they
Spread and populate
Throughout the heart.
